The following annual events take place with the support of the PTA:
Clean Up Days and Picnic
(Fall and Spring Dates)
PTA volunteers help to spruce up the school grounds and engage in school beautification projects (in the past murals have been painted and new garden beds have been added).
A picnic follows the Fall event as a time to get together with friends and relax after our hard work.
Upcoming date: Saturday, November 3rd
The C. W. Henry PTA will host our Fall Cleanup Day followed by a family picnic.
Projects will take place outside and will most likely include raking, sweeping, gardening, and more.
Family Fun Nights
(in lieu of December, February, and April PTA Meetings)
Thematic events are planned during which families play games with one another and also get to know some other C. W. Henry families a bit better.
Snacks and light refreshments are often served.
Past themes include Bingo Night, Luau, Camp Read-a-lot, Winter Carnival, and Science Night
Scholastic Book Fair (November, April)
Do you love to read? Do you love helping out books in the hands of our kids and help fundraiser for the PTA at the same time? Consider volunteering for a shift at the Fall book fair.
The Scholastic Book Fair will take place November 5th-9th.
The book fair will be open both during the regular school day and report card conferences.
Possible evening hours to be determined.
Martin Luther King Day of Service (January)
In honor of Dr. King’s legacy of community service, make it a day of service instead of just “a day off.” Various projects take place within the school to benefit the school community and others. C. W. Henry volunteers are assisted by our greater community with volunteers coming from various local organizations such as Germantown Jewish Center and the Unitarian Society of Germantown.
Lower School Family Dance (April)
Our K-5 Family Dance is one of the most popular CW Henry gatherings of the year! We have sold out of tickets each year as we raised money for projects to benefit our school, socialized with other parents in the community, and had a blast with all of our children! In order to make it run smoothly, we need lots of helping hands.
Earth Day Celebration and C.W. Henry Plant Sale (May)
All proceeds from the plant sale benefit lessons in the school garden with Farmer David.
